Tepefy (tep i-fai)

The cold bounced back a bit and we are above 0 again. Saturday was a beautiful day and even hit the 40's. This gave a chance for things to melt a bit, which the driveway needed. Lola loved it, she got to go out and wander around a bit. The snow appears to be an interesting barrier to her, containing her to the concrete and wood of the deck and patio. Either way she knows how to work Matt who is usually the one to give into her and let her out. She hasn't gotten brave with the birds since her brush with catching one.

The floor is finished! The contractor finished on Wednesday. It's been an adjustment because of the feel and how the light is reflected. Lola is struggling also as she can't seem to gain traction and occasionally has a spinout when she tries to take off.
The floor is taking the place of a winter blues trip. Matt is still bumming and stir-crazy that we aren't going on a trip soon let alone have anything planned either. He's pitched trips, cruises, long weekends, younameit. I don't blame him. It'd be good to get away a bit into the sun but we'll have to figure out something else later on.

In regards to the weekend it was pretty quiet. Saturday was spent in one of my favorite ways... puttering around the house. Picking up things here, cleaning things there, shifting and organizing. Felt good after a couple weeks of things in limbo with all the construction. We also did the first little bit of canning for the year. I had a ton of peppers in my basket so we made a green chili salsa. We ended up using the pressure cooker to seal the jars. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. On Sunday, we went out to the farm. Matt and I chopped wood for their fireplace and then we helped a bit with the cows. Was good to take things a bit slow.

Best meal: Impromptu date night at Fireflour where we had a traditional peppy (pepperoni) with chili oil as well as an Umbria (with a fennel sausage). Was good to get out of the house and their pizza is so good.

Name of the week: Joy
Cravings: milk and Dugout nachos (restaurant I worked at in college, closed now), KFC twister wraps (discontinued), Taco Bell baja chalupas (baja sauce is discontinued too).
Pregnancy symptoms: lack of sleep, night sweats, weird dreams, larger belly, minimal sciatica nerve pain,

ALR calls MJR at work: OH MY GOSH. Do you know all the things we are going to need to buy?
MJR: Yeah, I've been thinking of that.
ALR: We will need to buy bottles and cups and all sorts of things.
MJR: Why?
ALR: What do you mean, "why"?
MJR: Can't we use what we have?
ALR: No. What are we going to do? We can't just pour milk onto a plate.
MJR: Why not?
ALR: Because she's NOT A PUPPY!
ALR hangs up phone.
