The one where Ains is turned three

My baby is three – full on three. She’s vocal, strong willed, feisty, and full-on three. She knows what she wants and a good wind would carry her to Kansas and Oz and back. Sometimes I look at her and try to remember how the others were when they were three and it’s a bit of a blur. When E turned three I had two other babies to care for and I hadn’t slept thru the night for years by that time. Funny how the fog comes into your memory when you don’t realize it create these blurs of times only refreshed by photos and feelings.

We celebrated that sassypants for three days straight. Her birthday was on Friday. She woke up to balloons and flowers – took her cupcakes to daycare to share with her friends. That night she got to chose where we ate – she had two heavy influences on her. E wanted McDonalds and G wanted Big Boys. In the end, Ains wanted gravy. We gave her gifts at night – I had previously gone Big Lots shopping with E & G – it was like shopping with ants ping pongs on crack – they were all over the place and everything looked like a good idea. We ended up with a microphone and Mickey Mouse from E. G went with bracelets and a school bus. Solid choices.

The next day was her party. Minnie Mouse themed and all. The girl knows what she likes. We rented a hot dog roller – had family, a Minnie cake, and presents. The girl came out real well – and she made me chuckle as I think it was totally overwhelming. We celebrated into the night and at the end of the day, she crashed on the couch while her and her cousins watched movies. Payton covered her and all the Minnies up.

The next day – we had her professional pics and did a side trip of the heritage center while we were there. We also fully utilized our hotdog roller.

It was fun to watch her excitement as well as the excitement of her siblings. They wanted to share her excitement and see her smiles. I had to get after Eleanor on Saturday and I felt bad but she woke up at 7:00, came out and saw the decorations and went to go wake Ainsley (who likes to sleep in) to come see.
