I'm thankful for time (to grow, to be, to change, to breath)

I’m so in countdown mode. I can’t wait for Vegas….I’ve been looking at ideas, looking at weather, and looking at my wardrobe. I need this escape and can’t wait to get on the plane.

Thanksgiving was this week, it was a hard day and I appreciate my family (and Misha) for being patient with me try to get my legs underneath me. I know that everything will be fine, I’m stepping into my new future.

Look for me on the news on KQCD or KFYR (if you are Bismarck)…I will be on Monday Night on the Roughrider report with Cebe Schneider. I’m not sure how it will go as I suddenly developed public speaking nerves! I was talking about Ladies Night Out. We had a great write up in the Press this week with a few great quotes from me. I’m hoping the event will be a huge success! Be sure to check out the article in City Magazine, I wrote a story on the event and I’m excited about how it turned out!

Next week I get ready for Christmas with decorating. I’m looking forward to putting up the tree; this is Lola’s first Christmas with me. I’m hoping she’s not a tree-scaler! TonyDanza has loved eating the tinsel in the past, this year we are leaving it Off for sure!

Little time, little steps, little breaths...

It’s amazing how your life can change in two weeks. Dan has moved-picked up all of his furniture and things. We are both moving on with our lives in one way or another. What amazes me about life changes are the people and messages that emerge, things that you didn’t see before.

I’ve been working on home improvement projects. Since Elvis left, I had to install a new lock on the garage. It was my first big project alone. It’s not quality craftsmanship but I did it and I did it mostly by myself. I’ve worked on other projects with my family’s help—they came out on Sunday and did so much for me. I don’t know what I’d do without them. I want to also thank my grandmother who thought of me and replaced my prehistoric dryer with one from Grandma Kinney. It’s comforting to have a piece of her in my house.

I’ve been busy at work; my department (which consists of Julie and me) is working on 14 or 15 projects right now! We are extremely dedicated right now to Ladies Night Out Shopping Celebration, which is a downtown kick off to the holiday season in Dickinson. I picked up this idea from Hillsborough, NC and we decided to give it a western ND twist. I’m excited about the event but will miss it because I will be in Vegas. If I wasn’t going to be on vacation, I would be very disappointed.

Vegas is coming up, and I am looking forward to the escape from reality. Mom and I talked Grace into coming…I can’t image all the laughs that I have in store. I will be sure to take pics as I’m sure I will remember this trip for the rest of my life. This time next week, I will be packing my bag for sin city! I’ll send TonyDanza and Lola postcards!

I’m waiting for some sense of normalcy to return to me—not sure what that means but I hope I recognize it when it comes. Keep my heart in your prayers as it hurts sometimes.

Some times you have to deal.

This post is hard to write…

The wedding has been cancelled and Dan has moved out. This has been a long hard week full of questions with little answers. Please keep both of us in your prayers as we are not in the highest of spirits.

We have split up the family…2 cats = 1 dog. Not only did I have to say good bye to Dan but I also said good bye to Elvis. TonyDanza didn’t seem to mind and I’m sure the mailman isn’t feeling my pain.

Things will be different in our worlds for awhile.
But right now, I miss my best friend.

Tiiimmmmeeeee, Is on our Side!

It’s November 1, and my mother’s favorite sortof holiday! Fall Back Day! Hooray!

We were thoroughly disappointed with Halloween. We pre-ate most of our candy, bought more and only had 5 tricker-treaters in one group! Ugh! I was so excited to see all the cute costumes! Boo! They wanted to put Lola into their baskets…I said No way! Now we have more candy around the house! Boo!

Dan and I made a little fall feast for ourselves last night. We had the last large roast of our beef from last year, potatoes, and carrots, and gravy. I’ve never made gravy so it was a learning experience. It wasn’t too bad but it was a little thick. I’ll never be anywhere close to Grandma Elaine’s but I’ll keep trying!

We watched movies last night, the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Dogma. I give both movies 2 stars on the D&A Rating Scale. My favorite parts included the Time Warp and Alanis Morrissette portraying God, a role that really can’t be topped! Once you portray God, the rest of your roles would really seem meaningless.

It took the good part of the week to return to 100% health-I hate being sick but I had so many liquids! Sickness has really been going around this week. I’m happy that Dan didn’t pick up what I had. Two of us being sick would be awful! I hate when just one of us is—and Dan usually comes down with everything, little hypochondriac!

In 4 weeks…I’m plan on being in Vegas! The countdown is ON! :)
