Now this holiday couldn't have been timed any better for us...how else can you truly celebrate the freedom of this most American holiday? Drive across to great appreciate it! We drove on Independence Day too.
After a breakfast of leftover salmon in omelets, we took off for Jason and Sara's house in Prunedale. They had purchased it almost 2 years ago and it was fun to see what they have, especially after hearing all of the stories about Jason's little farm with Little Jason's "girls" and the pigs and sheep.
After spending the day with them, Jason prepared us an amazing meal! The tri-tip beef, salmon, potatoes, garlic bread, beans...it was so good. The beef was hands down my favorite...great flavor. I could have put it in my pocket and taken it home!
After spending such a wonderful, yet short time with them made both Matt and I miss them. Sucks to have such great family a million miles away and visits are too infrequent. We'll take the time we can have and cherish it. I love the relationship that Sara and Jason have too, it's fun to watch their little family. We also noticed a lemon tree in the front, Sara had given it to Jason for "the fruit anniversary"...this was the first year it has produced. How cute, I want one!
We ended the night watching fireworks in San Jose. Was fun from the view we were at because there were little shows happening all over, you almost didn't know where to watch!
Jason to Little Jason: See Jason, these are my cousins! Big cousins.
Jason to MJR and ALR: He thought you'd be little because his cousins all are.
ALR: I can understand the confusion.
