We are in the fine line between wind, cruddy out, and nice. The yard is still brown but they don't care. The house is out, the cars are out, the bikes and helmets are out, rocks are readily available. I decided to combine two of E's current passions - rocks and painting. We then took said painted rocks and hid them during one of our walk for someone else to find. We've found a couple rocks on our walks and thought it was our turn to return the favor.
We also put out the net swing out that G got for Christmas. They fell a bit in love with it at Papa's Pumpkin Patch but I didn't know how big of hit it would be. They love the spinning, swinging and pushing. I love the giggles that come from that part of the yard when they are on it. I'm sure someone will end up with a swing to the face one day but for right now, all is good in the yard.
Other big happening, we got a new roof. Even though our roof was only 5 years old, the hail storm last year on Grady's birthday required new gutters and roofing. Matt decided to go bolder and we went blue. It was completely distracting to work from home while they put it up. Nothing like a teams meeting where guys are going up and down ladders right behind you. But I'm glad it's done. The kids were completely enthralled by the roofers and are now pointing out all the other people getting new roofs in the neighborhood. We went for a walk later this week and they just stood and stared at the guys working - we finally had to walk back and remind them to keep going.
Eating supper
EER gets up to fill her own water glass.
sits back down.
EER: I have water in my glass.
GRR in deadpan tone: It's milk.
EER: It's water.
GRR: It's milk.
EER beginning to get worked up: It's water!
GRR: milk.
EER: IT's WATer!
GRR: milk.
EER standing up in her chair: WATER!
GRR: milk.
EER now shouting and very irrational: WA-TER!!!!
GRR with no change in tone from initial declaration: milk.
EER officially begins to lose her mind.
MJR: It's fine. It doesn't matter, let's move on.
GRR in slightly quieter voice: milk.
